2" Quaich with Thistle embossed

Embossing pushes the thistle out from inside the bowl, so the pattern stands raised on the face and hollow behind. That gives a softer, rounder relief than a stamped or applied design. Two inches across, English pewter, Sheffield workshop. Worth comparing against our applied-thistle version if the difference matters to you — the same emblem, handled two different ways.
