8" Quaich

At eight inches this is a quaich built for the top table rather than the hand. It is the size societies and clubs choose when something has to be presented and then displayed — a captain's trophy, a retirement piece, an object handed over in front of a room. Plain English pewter, which leaves the whole bowl clear. The twin-handled shape is unchanged from the vessels passed round Highland gatherings for centuries; the scale is what makes this one ceremonial.
